Opening bowlers Khan and Boyd bowled tightly without much luck, Carlton had reached 61 before the introduction of seasoned campaigner Bremner brought about the breakthrough. In his 2nd over which was the 15th of the match he made a double breakthrough bowling dangerous Aussie Williams and also Marshall with consecutive balls. Lewis and Dale also took on the task of bowling both managing 2 further wickets apeice before the reintroduction of Boyd and Khan accounted for the final 2 wickets, 1 each for those 2. The Carlton innings finished in the 44th over with them having scored 185 runs, a good fielding display along with some tight bowling reigned the score back just when the Edinburgh side looked like getting away.

Glens Skipper Ian Dale
Glens opener Hopcroft was joined by a new partner in Honeyman although both were back in the changing rooms without troubling the scorer, Boyd followed soon after and Glenrothes were in trouble with the score on 5 for the loss of 3 wickets. This brought together Dale and debutant Khan, the pair put on a superb 114 partnership to bring the Glens towards the target total. Khan fell with the score on 119 having scored a hard hitting 36 runs, bringing left hander Bremner to the crease. With Dale hitting majestic boundaries and Bremner abily supporting at the other end the victory target was ever closer, then disaster struck. Dale and Bremner fell in quick succession, soon to be followed by Ross, Sawn and Morris. The Glens hopes were resting with Lewis and last weeks golden ducker Gould, Lewis picked off the runs with Gould blocking excellently before the luck ran out 16 runs short of victory when Lewis was bowled. Overall a good fighting performance but the batting let them down with only Khan and Dale earning pass marks.
Now they must improve ahead of another trip accross the Forth this time at Holy Cross on Saturday.
