The selection committee has the job of picking teams for every game the club is involved in. Chairman of Selectors Geoff Sampson along with 1st XI Captain Ian Dale and 2nd XI Captain Willie Morrison have the difficult job of trying to put 11 players on the field for each game.
In season 2005 a new policy was introduced where by paid members would be selected ahead of non-members from 1st May in that year.
- If you are playing in a match, you must ensure that you have informed the captain of your availability for the following week before you leave.
- If you are not playing in a match at the weekend then by no later than Monday night at 6pm you must state your availability for the following weekend matches (both Saturday and Sunday) by either:
- Sending an email declaring your availability or not. Click here to contact us, and change query type to Team Selection.
- Phoning either the Chairman of Selectors (Geoff Sampson), 1st XI Captain (Ian Dale) or the 2nd XI Captain (Willie Morrison).
- If a match is cancelled, you will be called by phone. At this point you should confirm your availability for the next weekends games.
The teams for the weekend games shall be posted on the website no later than Tuesday night. They will also appear weekly in the Glenrothes Gazette, Fife Free Press and The Courier.
If after the teams are selected you become unavailable (for whatever reason) you MUST contact the team captain to inform him immediately.
Also, if a match is in doubt due to inclement weather you should always turn up unless you are told to the contrary.
