5. Michael Donaldson


Michael Donaldson was inducted to the Glenrothes Cricket Club "Hall of Fame" in 2012.

Mike Donaldson joined Glenrothes Cricket Club in 1981.

A well respected and hardworking club member, he was always a gentleman both on and off the park.

Mike always had an ethic of good sportsmanship and played the game hard but fair; those who played with him regularly comment on how much of a privilege it was to take part in matches with him.

He was club captain twice, initially from 1996 to 1999 and then again from 2004 to 2006 (7 seasons in total).

He skippered the side that won the ESCA Division 1 title in 1998

 and currently stands at number 7 in the clubs all time batting rankings with 5,403 runs from 341 innings. He has a highest score of 102 not out.

He stands at number 17 in the all time bowling stats with 111 wickets with an economy rate of 2.94 and average of 12.28.

As well as being an excellent batsman and bowler, he is renowned as one of the best ground fielders the club has ever had and he could always be relied upon to take catches and save runs.

He was also club president from 2000 to 2002.
