GCC entered the 2 Counties Cup in 2016 for the first time, and assumed incorrectly that the competition followed the same player eligibility criteria as the SPCU Sunday league in which we participate.

As soon as we became aware of this error, and on the same evening of the match; wrote to the SPCU and Falkland CC to acknowledge our mistake, apologised and made an offer to replay the match. Based on previous precedent this request was declined and we wish our friends at Falkland CC the very best in the next round versus Perth Doo’cot.

With the benefit of hindsight, we should have contacted the SPCU to request a copy of the rules, especially in that none were sent with the draw and not available from the 2 Counties Cup section of the SPCU website.
