With the 1st XI set to compete in SPCU Division 1 we are pleased to announce that Greig Hopcroft will return to the position of Club Captain.

Greig who has skippered the 1st XI successfully on various occasions in the past has taken something of a sabbatical from on-field action in recent seasons is delighted to be returning to regular cricket.

Upon his appointment Greig commented; "Cricket with Glenrothes had somewhat consumed all my time and it was clear a couple of seasons back that I needed some sort of time away from the game. Whilst watching the club reach some incredible heights, I'm delighted to see us undergoing something of a fresh start in 2019. The new pavilion along with a switch to the SPCU offers the perfect platform for me and others I've enjoyed playing with over the years, to make a return to the club on the playing side".

Greig also confirmed that his Vice Captains in the 1st XI for 2019 would be Nathan Salt and Ian 'Chippy' Dale.

Ian Green and Jay Lewis will continue in their roles as skippers of the 2nd XI and Sunday XI respectively.
