GCC send our best wishes to departing Coach and Player Graeme Beghin.

With confirmation this week that Graeme Beghin will shortly head to New Zealand to join a club in Auckland everyone at GCC would like to express our gratitude for his efforts with juniors and seniors alike during the current season.

Graeme moves on with the honour of being the first player to score a century on the clubs new Gilvenbank grass wicket and you see his 181 innings versus Holy Cross CC in its full glory on our LiveStream channel.

In an open letter to club members Graeme stated:

"This season started perfectly with all the teams remaining unbeaten for a number of weeks. Fortunately the 3's and 4's were able to continue this form and achieve promotion and I congratulate all the players who contributed to this success. The 1's and 2's fell agonisingly short of what would have been a truly remarkable season. No doubt both teams will go away with some disappointment but I'm certain the players will come back even more motivated in the new season."

"We should not lose sight on what the club has achieved this year. To have all the teams challenging for league victory is brilliant. The 1st side showed great pedigree in the newly formed ESCA Championship. The Gladiators challenged well established clubs in both Kwik Cricket and hard ball fixtures. The Junior Development program saw us bring cricket to about 600 students each week in the Glenrothes area. The GCC Indoor Centre proved its value with a number of training sessions going ahead indoors. The 1st team reached the Murgitroyd finals day and the Fife Cup final. All of this success was achieved in the midst of moving to a new ground and dealing with constant external pressures like the vandalism."

"A huge credit must go to Eddie and the management team as well as to all the captains and players who persevered throughout the season. Personally I would like to thank Eddie for his support in getting me on board for this season and allowing me to contribute to his vision. Kenny Crichton for being my go to man for all occasions, Chris Greaves for everything both on and off the field and finally, Bod for your help with the junior development and Gladiators during the summer, great job. Of course to all the players and supporters that I got to meet this season, it has been a pleasure to get to know you all. I truly hope that I have been able to meet the clubs expectations and contribute to your development as cricketers through the coaching and time we spent together."

Good luck and best wishes for the future Graeme and we'll look forward to seeing you again should you return to Scottish cricket in the future.
