GCC Chairman Kenny Crichton to captain Glens 1st XI in our first ever Premier League Season.

Kenny who is currently in India with the Scotland squad as they prepare for the ICC World T20 has long relished the chance to captain the 1st XI and taking it on as a dual role with his Chairman duties has not deterred him.

He commented; “The club has made huge strides over the past few years to reach the summit level of Scottish cricket, it’s been my pleasure to have played an active part in that rise over the past 4 years and to be given the chance to captain the team is something I’m very excited about; it’s no secret it has always been an ambition for me”.

“Working with Grant Bradburn and the Scotland squad at International level has taught me loads of new things both for match preparation and tactically in those key pressure situations. In the main the Glens first team squad is quite young but we do have some experienced campaigners in Alec Davies, Vasu Reddy, Chris Greaves and of course my predecessor as captain Robbie Wright who lead the team through an unbeaten campaign in 2015 – I’ll undoubtedly be calling on their knowledge both before and during the season.”

Throughout March and April, the club will be running FREE High Performance Training sessions every Wednesday evening (2nd March through 20th April) from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. These sessions are considerably more intense than regular club sessions with skill/fitness the main priority. Any player looking to challenge for a 1st XI place in 2016 in encouraged to attend as many of these FREE sessions as they can.
