Glenrothes Head Coach & Opening Batsman enjoys incredible personal feat as 1XI end league season as undefeated Champions.

If Carlsberg did cricketers...
- Graham Dodds Snr

Personal successes haven't been talked about too much at Glenrothes CC this year and whilst nobody is taking their eye off the ball with the CSL Play-Off still to come; all at the club were delighted to see Chris Greaves score 162 at Carlton to smash through the 1000 run barrier for the season.

Following a 2014 season which disappointed for Chris personally he bounced back in style and set himself this personal goal before the season had even started.

He said; "there was a change in my focus, I made the commitment to move to Scotland full-time before the start of the 2014 season and I had all sorts of things going on in my life behind the scenes; added to that I was club captain and we moved to our new ground".

"Things have settled down a lot since then and 2015 was a new dawn for both me and the club; there were some changes in the team with Ryan Watson and Graeme Beghin both moving on to Forfarshire, plus Robbie Wright taking over from me as skipper."

"I relished my new role as Head Coach and it was somewhat strange to suddenly be one of the more senior players in a very young side; I was a challenge I relished and being selected for the Highlanders this year helped focus on my training and performances."

"The personal achievement of reaching 1000 runs is very special but the hard work isn't finished yet, the wider objective this season was to get promoted to the CSL Premier League; if we can achieve that then the personal milestone will be all the sweeter."

"As Head Coach I was also delighted to see our 2nd XI win their league by the narrowest of margins and the 3rd XI promoted after missing out on the title through a technicality. The improvement in some of the novice and junior cricketers in the 4th XI has rounded off a fine ESCA season for the club."
