Following our AGM it has been confirmed that the cricket ovals at our home ground will be named after the late John Bell and Bill Ramsay.

A fitting tribute which means names from the past will always be part if the clubs future.
- Craig Gould, GCC

Following a proposal by Craig Gould the club members unanimously agreed at our recent AGM to rename the 2 ovals at our Gilvenbank Park ground.

From 2017, the main oval with grass wicket will be known as the "Bell Oval"; whist our smaller oval with artificial wicket will now be called the "Ramsay Oval".

John Bell and Bill Ramsay were synonymous with Glenrothes Cricket Club for over 50 years and stories resonate about how the old league rules allowed them to bowl all the clubs overs between them.

Both were inducted to the GCC Hall of Fame prior to their passing and the club see the naming of the ovals as a fitting tribute to two men that dedicated so much for so long.

Furthermore due to the kind contribution of GCC member Paul Culleton a memorial bench for John Bell will be presented to the club at the start of the 2017 season.
