Long serving players Darren Bremner and Cameron Ross have announced their retirements from cricket.

As much as I enjoyed playing the opening match of the season my body did not.
- Darren Bremner

Following a raft of retirements during the off-season the club have been dealt a blow with news that two of our all time best players in Darren Bremner and Cammy Ross have decided to hang up their spikes.

Darren has consistently played at a high level for the club over a 30-year period, ranked 3rd in the all-time wicket taking stats and 9th in the batting.

Cammy an old-school all rounder in the true sense of it has some fantastic records for batting, bowling and wicket keeping.

Whilst making the decision to retire Darren commented; “As much as I enjoyed playing the opening match of the season my body did not, when it gets to the Tuesday after the game and your knee is still swollen you know the time is right to call it a day.”

A total club guy Darren also added, “Whilst retired I am still willing to turn out if I can to help out if the club need players due to low availability in the holiday period”.

Congratulations to both Darren and Cammy on fantastic playing achievements with Glenrothes CC, you can read more about both in their Hall of Fame profiles.

As the retirements continue at pace the need for new regular players, available on Saturday’s in particular intensifies. If you fancy joining the Glens or trying cricket for the first time please call Robert on 07883651520.
