Following the appointment of Robbie Wright as Club Captain yesterday we are delighted to announce that club legend Chippy Dale will be 2nd XI skipper.

ESCA Championship winning Club Captain as recently as 2012 Chippy remains one of the best batsman at the club and his appointment as 2nd XI captain for 2015 shows just how important the club is treating our forthcoming ESCA Division 4 campaign.

Recently inducted to the GCC Hall of Fame, upon his appointment Chippy commented; "I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead, and the goal for me will be for the 2nd XI to challenge for a fourth consecutive promotion and continue to bridge the gap between the 1st XI and 2nd XI both on and off the park. I'd also like to congratulate Robbie Wright on his appointment as Club Captain and am looking forward to working closely with him once Pre-season Training starts on Sunday 25th January".

Club Chairman Alasdair Sim added; "With confirmation that our 2nd XI will play in ESCA Division 4 during the forthcoming season, the club couldn't be happier with Chippy Dale taking on the skipper's job. If ever there was a man to command respect from his team and lead from the front, club legend Chippy Dale fits the bill. This is great news for the up and coming youngsters looking to break into the 1st XI squad as well as for the more experienced campaigners in the side. Expect great things from the 2nd XI in 2015".
