Ahead of our first league match this weekend 11 meters of Glenrothes CC artificial pitch is cut and stolen.

After lasting one year without any problems the club are sad to report that 11 meters of our artificial match pitch has been cut out and stolen.

The club who have been investing heavily in community facilities at our new Gilvenbank ground estimate a repair bill into the thousands and we will probably now have to try and relocate home fixtures for our 3rd and 4th XI teams.

GCC Operations Officer Kenny Crichton commented; "Just when we think we've got away from the problems we had at our old ground something like this happens. Myself and many other members have spent countless hours preparing the new ground over the Winter and for this to happen now is yet another kick in teeth."

"The matter has been reported to the police, but we reported vandalism to our pitch covers and the break-in on our pavilion at the old ground last season and nothing came from their investigations".

It is believed that the theft occurred on the night of Sunday 20th April as we used the pitch earlier in the day. If anyone has any information which may help the club and the police then please contact Kenny Crichton on 07557 403533.
