Known for his time as a prolific batsman in his time with Dunnikier CC, Alan took a sabbatical from the game when the Kirkcaldy club stopped playing Saturday cricket.
Now refreshed and having enjoyed pre-season with GCC, Alan commented; “I’m really looking forward to coming back to cricket after a few years away. I’ve played a lot of golf over the past 3 years but I’ve always kept a close eye on the Scottish cricket scene and the rise of Glenrothes has been superb and I’d spoken a lot with Eddie Gibbs and Greig Hopcroft about the prospect of a comeback”.
“Decision made, I’m very keen to test myself now at a higher level of cricket than I was able to play in my time at Dunnikier, though I’ll always have fond memories of my time there and wish the rebooted DCC all the very best with their season. Everyone at GCC has made me feel very welcome and I cannot wait to make my debut”.
