Youngsters make switch to Glenrothes CC following withdrawal from ESCA by Dalgety Bay CC.

Glenrothes CC are pleased to announce that promising youngsters Jamie (18) and Peter (16) Pryce have joined the club from Dalgety Bay CC.

The brothers are well known to many at the club already having played with some of our own youth players with the Fife Squires in Twenty20 cricket. They also performed well for Dalgety Bay in 2015 playing in ESCA Division 7 against skipper Andy Muir and his promotion winning GCC 3rd XI.

Jamie scored 288 runs with a top score of 88 versus Broomhall, he also took 19 wickets at an average of 8.47.

Peter was amongst the leagues top wicket takers, just behind our own Brian Morris with 22 wickets at an average of 14.41.

Club Chairman Kenny Crichton commented; “First and foremost it is sad to see that another club in the west of Fife has had to withdraw from league cricket. With modern lifestyles it’s growing increasingly difficult for clubs to get players out every week, we’ve had a struggle ourselves to find new players following a raft of retirements since the end of the 2015 season.”

“Jamie and Peter are hugely keen cricketers with bags of potential. They have been training with us as guests of the club for several months and we are delighted to welcome them on board as players ahead of the 2016 season”.

The club are still actively seeking new players at all levels to help fill spaces in our 5 weekend teams during the 2016. If you’d like to give cricket a try then please call Graham Dodds on 07825043194.
