Currently playing his cricket in his homeland for Rawalpindi he has taken 330 First Class Wickets with an economy of 3.25 and an average of 24.01. Last season for the Glens he took 53 wickets with 2.3 economy and a 5.8 average.

Club Chairman Kenny Crichton who opened the bowling with Rizwan last season commented; “Nobody at the club is under any illusions of the challenge that awaits us in the top flight of Scottish cricket, to have a player like Rizwan leading our attack will hopefully help the team retain some of the same confidence we had last season.”

“I cannot imagine there will be too many batsmen at any level of cricket who would say they are looking forward to facing Rizwan Akbar, the pace and guile he offers is certainly something I’d prefer on my side than in the opposition”.

Rizwan’s agent Kash Khalil added; “Rizwan loved last season with Glenrothes, which is without doubt one of Scotland’s most progressive clubs; he was determined to return and play with the club in the Premier League. He possess some serious fire power in that right arm and he genuinely can’t wait until the season starts next April”.

Pre-season training gets underway at Cluny Clays (near Kirkcaldy) on Sunday 10th January 2016 and new players are welcome to attend their first session for FREE.
