All rounder Robbie Wright steps up from 1st XI Vice Captain to become Club Captain for 2015.

Wright (22) joined Glenrothes CC from Freuchie in 2013 and has played a large part in the success enjoyed by our 1st XI since his arrival.

He steps in to the position vacated by Chris Greaves who has since taken on the role of Head Coach at the club.

Upon confirming the appointment Chairman Alasdair Sim commented; "The club is delighted to see Robbie Wright stepping up to the plate and taking on the role of Club Captain for 2015. Together with Head Coach Chris Greaves, Robbie will lead his youthful and talented side into the ESCA Championship brimming with confidence; after learning some harsh lessons from a close run campaign last season. I'd like to wish Robbie all the very best in what promises to be an amazing season ahead for him and the club".

Robbie Wright stated; "I must start by congratulating my predecesor Chris Greaves on what was a succesful season in 2014; successful cup runs as well as going unbeaten for so long in league only to be pipped for promotion on the final day!"

He continued; "I was lucky to be vice captain under Chris and thoroughly enjoyed the extra responsibility. Thankfully Chris is continuing with the the club as Head Coach for 2015 and I'm really looking forward to working with him in partnership again, this time as Captain and Coach!"

"I'm both excited and honoured to be selected to Club Captain of such a young talented squad, which in my opinion will be competing at the top level of Scottish cricket very soon indeed and my objective for the season ahead is to lead us to promotion and claim the place at the top-table we just missed out on last time around. I'm really looking forward to bringing my ideas to the team and cannot wait for Indoor Training to start on Sunday 25th January".
