The club can confirm tonight that former 1st team captain Robbie Wright has informed us he intends to return to Freuchie CC following the end of the 2016 season.

Robbie commented; “It’s been an incredible journey with Glenrothes and was great to have the opportunity to lead the side into Premier League unbeaten, I'll always be grateful in particular to former Chairman Eddie Gibbs for bringing me to the club and believing in me. The jump up to the top league was certainly challenging and to have played at the highest level of club cricket in Scotland is something I’ll always be proud of. It wasn’t an easy decision to leave the Glens and I’ll retain many friends at the club; in the end though personal factors make the time right to return to the club nearest to my home now”.

Chairman Kenny Crichton added, "Robbie has had a hugely positive influence on the club and his teammates. He returns to Freuchie as a very good cricketer and we wish him and them they very best for 2017 in the ESCA Championship".
