Left arm bowler turned batsman Robert "Bod" Hutchison will take the reigns of GCC 4th XI for ESCA Division 8 campaign in 2015.

Following a hugely successful season under Ross Mearns and Ally King where the title was won and promotion was achieved, the captaincy has now been appointed to Robert "Bod" Hutchison.

Chairman Alasdair Sim commented; "Bod has been and still is a very talented cricketer and will add a new dimension to our 4th XI. Having played in a few games in the 4th XI towards the end of last season; scoring heavily, this bowler turned batsman has a hard act to follow in Ross Mearns who has led from the front for the past two seasons, including winning the ESCA Division 9 title in 2014. I wish Bod and his team of youth, experience and those new to cricket all the very best for 2015".

New skipper Bod commented; "I've always been keen to have a shot at captaincy and thank Alasdair and the team for giving me this chance. I appreciate this level of cricket is about mixing the natural competitive nature of the game with fun and enjoyment and that will be at the forefront of my objectives of the season ahead".

"We have a lot of players new to the game in our 4th XI and the step up will be tough, but I'm sure one the lads (and ladies) will relish. I'm also hoping to see some of the more experienced campaigners playing more regularly as they can certainly help build platforms within matches that will give us a chance of success and also have so much they can pass on to those new to the game".
