As part of our internal junior development pathway the club will play our Under 18 players in a selection of upcoming Forth Cricket Union (FCU) matches.

With juniors representing the club in senior cricket across our 4 Saturday and 2 Sunday teams it became apparent that the U18s aren’t getting much of an opportunity to all play in one team. The clubs younger players, who have taken part in shorter form FifeT20 cricket together this season have requested a chance to play in a series of fixtures on an U18 basis and the club are happy to oblige within our remaining FCU commitments.

With some of our young players representing Scotland, others selected for regional academy teams and some new to the game during the past couple of seasons; we have decided to take the opportunity to use these 4 FCU matches to get all of our U18s in the same team. The club very much see initiatives like this as the backbone to the development of players we hope will be playing together at the club for many years to come.

Several of our U18 players are also in the process of completing their Level 2 Coaching Certificates.

Regular FCU skipper Graham Dodds Jnr will captain the side and the following FCU matches will be played by GCC using U18 player:

Sunday 2nd August vs West Lothian (Home)
Sunday 16th August vs Livingston (Away)
Sunday 23rd August vs Broomhall (Home)
Saturday 5th September vs Dunfermline (Away)

It is anticipated our expanding group of juniors will continue to thrive for the remainder of this season and during Winter training ahead of the 2016 season.
