Glenrothes comfortably beat Carlton 2nd XI to go the full league season unbeaten to end with a 100% record.
With the bat Chris Greaves lead the way with a magnificent 162 to take his season runs in the league to over 1000 which is a remarkable achievement. he was well assisted by Vasu Reddy with 28 and Shane Munro with 26 taking the team to 284/9 off the 50 overs.
With the ball it was a great start with Carlton 4/3 after the first 2 overs and they never fully recovered ending up 110 all out. the wickets were shared with Robbie taking 2, Kenny 2, Chris Greaves 2 and Fraser Gosse 1. The main wicket taker on the day and all season was Rizwan Akbar who took 3/20 to end the league season with exactly 50 wickets, another remarkable achievement.
Next week see's Glenrothes take on Gordonians in the Play off to determine who will play in the Eastern Premiership next year. It promises to be a good game with both teams on high confidence, Glenrothes with their unbeaten campaign and Gordonians having won the Challenge Cup.
