Oldies show em how it's done

Halfway point of the season see's Captain Muir win the toss again for every league game of the season so far but breaks with tradition and opts to bat first. After a steady start Muir out caught at mid-wicket for 9 Salt comes in at 3 but youthfulness see's him try to hit boundaries to quickly and is out for 9 also .McAulay is next to go for 10 after looking in good nick considering not played for 5 weeks.Glens 41for 3 and struggling a bit but then a fine 123 4th wicket partnership from Wardle and Doddsy snr saw Glens back in the driving seat with Dodds ending on 55 and Wardle despite a pulled calf and needing a runner finished on 92 .And with a nice wee cameo from Ian Green 19not out Glens finish on there highest total of the season of 243.

Glens start defending their total in confident mood and after 5 overs it looked justified with Morris taking 2 quick wkts and with Hutchison bowling a good tight line at the other end the wkts kept coming with Morris picking up another 2 followed by a couple for Muir and a couple for Salt SMRH found themselves 79 for 9 . A last wkt stand of 27 saw the away team reach 106 before the last wkt fell to run out. A fine win considering the amount of changes and from a captain's point of view more pleasing than last week's win over then league leaders Dunnikier.Special mention to Jay Lewis for stepping in at last minute to do a good job in the field also to the Silver fox Morris picking up the first 4 wkts and to the two old cripples Brett and Doddsy for a fine performance with the bat .
