Shahzad (30) played for Scotland at the 2006 U19 World Cup in Sri Lanka and has gone on to be one of the countries most impressive all rounders with Stenhousemuir and in representative cricket with the Western Warriors.
Ahead of making his debut with the Glens on Saturday in the friendly at Strathmore, Aamir commented; "Whilst a wrench to leave Stenhousemuir after so many years the chance to come across from west to east and play in the Premier League is one I'm really looking forward to. I've always been keen to challenge myself and aspire to be the very best cricketer I can, Glenrothes have offered me the perfect platform to achieve my goals and I've been am admirer of what they have achieved within Scottish cricket in recent years".
1st XI Captain Safyaan Sharif added; "Aamir is a good friend of mine but more importantly a fantastically gifted cricketer with both bat and ball. I'm glad the club have been able to attract him to join us and I'm certain he's going to be a major player for us this season".
