Key issues from November 2021 meeting

The Glenrothes Cricket Club (GCC) Interim Management Team was put in place at the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) with an agreed focus to sustain the day to day running of the club but more importantly to look at longer term strategic and operational improvements to embed a sustainable future for the club.

The team met for the first time on Thursday 11th November and key issues agreed were around how to bring focus on where we stand as a club across all our operations and activities, how we best manage our partnership with the Glenrothes Community Sports & Health Hub and most importantly enhancing internal communication - this includes members and supporters needing to know that the committee is meeting, what is being discussed and how they can get engaged.

A draft strategic development plan was discussed, setting out a number of themes and supporting actions and priorities. It was agreed that they provide a realistic viewpoint of where the club is currently and present an achievable work plan. These were grouped under four key themes and sub-categorised into workstreams.

  • our PEOPLE : Ensure all players, volunteers and supporters feel part of an engaged community
  • Communications, Social, Engagement, Fundraising
  • our FACILITIES : Ensure we have fit for purpose facilities which are maintained to a high standard
  • Grounds, Nets, Clubhouse
  • our PATHWAYS : Ensure we support each cricketer to the best of their abilities and interest
  • Coaching, Players, Juniors, Partnerships
  • our GOVERNANCE : Ensure we have a positive culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Compliance, Documentation, Committee, Planning

Our aim is to have a designated lead under each theme and their aim would be to work with the wider membership to turn these plans into reality. Key to this is making sure that all members and supporters have the ability to get engaged with this work and so we would encourage you to get in touch to find out more and in turn do what you can to help.

By working together we can deliver on our collective aim of providing high quality cricket and social opportunities by providing facilities and environments which are engaging, accessible and affordable to people of all ages and abilities.
