Following the shock resignation of Greig Hopcroft this week, we can confirm that Ian Green will take over for the remainder of the season.

It's an honour to be considered for the role and I'll give it my very best effort.
- Ian Green, 1st XI Captain

Earlier this week, and following a fine start to the season; Glenrothes Cricket Club were surprised to learn that Greig Hopcroft would be unable to continue in the role of 1st XI Captain.

With the club very much in a transitional period, Greig playing and captaining again this season was a welcome boost to all, and it's with considerable sadness that he's been unable to continue.

Current 2nd XI skipper Ian Green, who had been playing in the 1st XI for the past few weeks; has accepted an offer from the committee to step up to take over the captaincy.

Club stalwart Brian Morris, who has been captaining the 2nd XI in recent weeks; will now take over the 2nd XI captaincy until the end of the season.

We wish both Ian and Brian all the very best with their respective teams and hope for some nice weather and positive results with Summer in our midst.

As the holiday season approaches, many of our regular players will be unavailable; and the club are desperately seeking new players to help fill the spaces in our 3 weekend league teams. Regardless of whether you've played before or not, if you can help out and fancy giving cricket a go this Summer; please contact Ian Green on 07932720580 or send him an email.
