Square Under Repair

Square Under Repair

Nic Krzyzanowski10 Apr - 12:24

If it wasn't for those pesky footballers....

Our cricket square (the bit inside the orange fencing) has unfortunately been damaged this week with it being used as a football arena. There are deep depressions and scoring all over the surface, which is a real setback as it had just been rolled for the new season.

A brilliant volunteer effort spent last night repairing it: full grass-cut, divot‑style repairs, spiking, and fertiliser to help it bounce back. Fingers crossed it recovers quickly.

Please help us by keeping an eye out and reminding others that the square isn’t to be used for any other games or activities. We invest a lot of time, money, and care into preparing safe, high‑quality pitches for everyone who plays here. Protecting the square makes a massive difference to the standard of cricket we can offer.

If you’re looking for other places to kick a ball or get active, just give us or the Gilvenbank Community Sports Hub a shout - we’re always happy to help. As like last year, we'll keep maintaining the football pitch at the play‑park end for everyone to use.

Thanks so much for your support - it means a lot.
