Intermediate hardball for Under 12s with the Glenrothes Gladiators, with emphasis on continuous, active participation, where all players get to bat, bowl and field. These games will typically be held on Thursday evenings, and usually 8-a-side T20 (Twenty-Twenty, meaning each team bats for 20 overs). Batting pairs will bat for 5 overs each, if a batter is dismissed then they will get another chance but the other team will gain bonus runs. Similarly, everyone will bowl at least 2 overs so plenty to do. Games will be played as intermediate hardball (so slightly softer than a proper hard cricket ball) but full protective equipment will still be worn (pads, thigh-guard, box, gloves, arm-guard and helmet). The club can provide all equipment, but players are welcome to use their own.
