Skipper Ian Dale won the toss and elected to bat first on a scorching hot day at Doo'Cot Park in Perth.
Glenrothes were quickly on the back foot at 10 for 2 with Willie Morrison and Chris Greaves out cheaply. This brought Stephen Rowley and Ashgar Ali Tabasum together and the pair settled in for the long haul. A partnership of over 150 fiollowed before Ashgar was out for 84 before he was followed by Rowley for 75. A few more wickets fell but the Glens managed to battle to a decent 211 for 7 from the 40 overs.
In reply the Glenrothes bowlers struggled a little for consistency in the hot conditions. Pick of the bowlers were Farooq Khan, Kenny Crichton and Stephen Rowley. However it wasnt quite enough with Perth reaching their total in the 38th over having lost 8 wickets.
Glens experience defeat for the first time this season, but move forward with a Murgitroyd match in Arbroath on Thursday followed by a home match against Murrayfield DAFS on Saturday.
