Falkland won the toss and decided to bat first. Skipper turned to Farooq Khan (3-16-1) and Iain Georgeson (4-22-0) with the new ball. The Glens bowled well and kept the run rate down but Falkland brought up their first 50 runs with no loss, but shortly afterwards Darren Lewis got the breakthrough and the score was now 53/1 in the seventh over. Good fielding (Lewis and Ian Dale with a fantastic team effort run-out) and bowling kept the pressure on Falkland as it was hard to score freely. Kenny Crichton (4-29-2 )and Lewis (4-28-1) put on a great bowing partnership and the wickets started to fall. Stephen Rowley, the man with the golden arm; was brought into the attack and made it look easy to take wickets (4-16-3). Glens bowled Falkland out for 116 after 19 overs.
Falkland after setting a defendable target of 116 took the field as the sun started to set on a fine evening. Rowley and Asghar Ali Tabasum opened the batting for the Glens and it was not long until Rowley danced down the track and spooned the ball in the air for a short lived three runs. The Glens were in trouble as they kept loosing wickets at the wrong time. Crichton (19 runs not out) standing up tall in the tail, once again showing he can bat scored runs around the park with minimal fuss. Glenrothes were restricted to 67/9 after 20 overs.
Falkland won the match by 49 runs and will now face neighbours Freuchie in the Fife Cup Final.
