Skipper Greig Hopcroft won the toss and elected to bat first in the sunny conditions.
Hopcroft and Chris Greaves continued with their opening partnership and they made a steady start until Greaves was out LBW in the 5th over with the score on 16.
Jatinder Pal and Hopcroft made good progress before Hopcroft was out trying to pull a short delivery, however it didn't get up as much as expected. Pal followed quickly after and this brought Ryan Watson and Guy Robinson together. The pair went on to add 64 together before Watson was out mistiming a shot in the air he made a good 40 which included only 1 boundary, a six from a full toss.
With the depth of batting Glenrothes had new signing Sanjay Rakshit and the experienced Steve Rowley added 49 together for the 7th wicket with Sanjay making 29 and Rowley 19. The Glenrothes innings ended just 2 balls short of the 50 over mark with a good score of 198.
In reply the Glenrothes opening bowlers made a fantastic start with Darren Lewis taking 2 wickets in the 3rd over and by the end of the 10th over the visitors were 15 for 3. Kenny Crichton's first spell went for only 11 runs deom his first 8 overs. A change brought Rowley into the mix and his mix of pace, swing and movement helped to curtail the RHC batsmen. Rowley bowled his 13 overs taking 2 for 26, a superb effort.
Mixed in with some excellent catching from the Glenrothes fielders all the bowlers contributed to an excellent team performance with Glens bowling RHC out for 167 giving Glenrothes maximum 10 points.
Next week sees a visit to fellow newbies Dundee High School, another tough test for the Glens. In between times there is a national 20/20 match on Tuesday night at Riverside Park v Stirling County, entry is FREE and everyone is welcome to come along to watch.
