Skipper Greig Hopcroft won the toss and elected to bat first on an excellent looking Town Park wicket.
Glens made a steady start before Greaves and Hopcroft were both out with the score on 35. This brought together Ryan Watson and Robbie Wright, and the pair batted very well together. Watson playing some lovely strokes to finish with 73 runs before he was bowled, the partnership was however worth 88, which laid excellent foundations for the guys down the order. Sanjay Rakshit and Jordan Davidson then took up the challenge and together they put on 91 runs unbeaten at the end, Rakshit ending with 53 not out and Davidson 42 not out. Glenrothes final total was 270 for 6, which was an excellent effort.
In response the West Lothian innings started well with 50 runs from the first 10 overs losing only 1 batsman. This brought the skipper and overseas player together, however the crucial wicket of the skipper was taken with a superb piece of fielding from Chris Greaves with a full length diving catch. When overseas player Denby was next to go Glenrothes were well into the batting lineup. Jatinder Pal came on to bowl and with his useful bowling managed to take 5 for 31 from his 8 overs bowling very well in the process.
The West Lothian innings ended after 41.5 overs with the score on 219, so Glenrothes ended up victorious by 61 runs.
Next week sees an away trip to face local rivals Falkland, 12 noon start at Falkland.
