Skipper Greig Hopcroft lost the toss and was asked to bat first on a pleasant and sunny day.
The innings never really got started with wickets falling at regular intervals with only Steve Rowley and Chris Greaves really getting pass marks for their efforts. Glenrothes were all out for 88 in the 33rd over of the innings.
The umpires decided to go back out to begin the second innings and tea would be taken at the scheduled time, this was to prove an important point in the game. Glenrothes bowled well up front with Darren Lewis, Kenny Crichton and Jordan Davidson all bowling well to take Aberdeenshire to 38 for 4 when tea was taken. Glens felt they were in the ascendancy but the tea interval just came at the wrong time.
Unfortunately no further wickets fell upon the resumption, with Aberdeenshire managing to get to the total of 89 required.
A good game played in good spirits, just a pitty Glenrothes couldnt muster another 40 or 50 runs to be able to put up more of a fight.
