Slipper Greig Hopcroft won the toss and elected to bat first on a very nice evening at Scroggie Park.
The early wicket of Rowley didnt deter the Glens with Wright and Greaves taking the attack to the Falkland bowlers. Wright was run out for 6 which brought the skipper to the crease. He along with Chris Greaves continued to hit boundaries and take the singles before Hopcroft retired hurt with a sore groin. There was however no stopping Greaves as he marched on to a magnificant 100 from only 92 balls. Glenrothes finished their 20 overs 166 for 3.
In reply a steady start was made by Falkland, however the Glenrothes bowlers were managing to pick off wickets as the total grew. Lockyer was the pick of the Falkland batsmen scoring 56 runs before a middle of the wicket collision with his colleague saw a run out. Whilst wickets fell, Falkland were always up with the rate and were in the game right to the end even when the last man came to the crease with only 15 needed from the final over. However Glenrothes kept their head to progress to the Fife Cup Final which will be against the winners of Largo v Broomhall.
Special mention to young Libin Thomas, who bowled really well taking 3 wickets. Kenny Crichton and Farooq Khan plus Robbie Wright who all kept tight bowling lines giving nothing away.
