Glenrothes drive forward with another win in the league.

Glens skipper Chris Greaves lost the toss again and were asked to bat 1st. A pitch that looked like a batsmen's paradise, G.Beghin and A.Davies opened the batting for the Glens and what a great start it was with both despatching the ball to all parts of the ground. The Glens moving score on to 71 before loosing the 1st wicket of A.Davies(32) as he spooned the ball to mid-off. This brought skipper C.Greaves to the crease. Graeme scoring to all parts of the ground looked set for a big knock as he flashed at a wide one and was caught at slip for 43. In at four was B.Wilkinson. Both Chris and Ben moved the ball about as they brought the glens 100 up. Next to go was Chris(23) as he payed round a straight on and got cleaned bowled with the score at 126-3 after 20 overs. R.Wright joined Ben in the middle, Glens kept the score moving with some classy strokes.

At Drinks the Glens were 153-3 after 25 overs. Robbie and Ben started to be a bit more creative as they took the attack to the bowlers. Ben and Robbie approaching their half-centeries were making the bowlers pay for some short and wide bowling. It was now time for Ben to raise his bat as he brought up his first half-century for the club. Next to go was Ben as he skied a ball and was well caught for (61). F.Gosse was next but never lasted long as he was rushed and popped one up for (4). Robbie stuck at the other end watched V.Reddy come and go as he was short lived for (5). With some great bowling and Carlton taking there chances ,were clawing there way back in to the game although the Glens already with a big score of 223-6 with 15 overs to go. Robbie was dismissed 4 short of yet another half-centery as he picked the fielded for (46). With G.Dodds Jnr and S.Lucas finding their feet in the middle, were starting to have some fun as they took advantage of the short boundary scoring some crucial runs at the end of the innings.Next to go was Dodds (17) as he was caught.K.Crichton(0*) ran really well as Scot(38*) continued to score some bonus runs and ending the Glens on 294-8.

With Carlton providing some lovely tea's it was now time to get back on the field. Glens with 294 runs on the board, opened the bowling with K.Crichton and V.Reddy. It was a rocky start for the Glens as the Carlton openers M.Wells and K.McPherson took advantage of the leg side bowling and were moving the score it to double figures. Kenny drew blood first for the glens as Wells chased a wide one and edged it to G.Beghin at first slip. K.Arrind was the next man in for Carlton, and found his feet early doors as the glens were not bowling the right channels which made it easy for the pair to build a solid partnership. With both batsmen moving past their half-centeries and putting Carlton in a healthy position at drinks (136-1). Glens made it back on the field after some discussions from skipper C.Greaves and coach G.Beghin.

With the sun long gone and the nights closing on us it was when the glens becoming louder in the field and the bowling changes of R.Wright (2wks) and K.Crichton (2wks), it finally brought a spark with some incredible glove work at either side from A.Davies taking two lightning stumpings. With the rain showers passing threw made it hard to manage the ball as it was a ''wet bar of soap''. Glens kept the pressure on carlton which were 141-4 in a flash. Some great Spin bowling from S.Lucas (2wks), kept the rate down and glens pulling things back. C.Greaves being expensive in his first three overs going for 23runs pulled it back as he picked up the last 3 wickets in his 4th over.
Glens win the game by 86 runs.
