Freuchie 1st XI vs Glenrothes 1st XI

It started out a very nice day with the sun out at Freuchie for the much anticipated game between GCC and FCC. GCC won the toss and decided to bat first on a decent looking wicket. Glenrothes really struggled and found themselves 32/4 before Guy Robinson and Greig Hopcroft stuck in and had a 49 run partnership to save the team. Greig was eventually caught on the boundary for 48, these two were the only players to get into double figures with Guy making 26 before being bowled by the Freuchie Pro who took 6 Glenrothes wickets. Glenrothes finished on 91 but were very confident in defending this total especially since GCC had Freuchie in real trouble batting in the last fixture having them 19/7 at one point.

Freuchie having known this were very cautious to start with taking 19 balls before the first run was taken. in the 6th over the prized wicket of Scott Gourlay was taken caught by Beghin of the bowling of Vasu. this was the only wicket to fall as the rain came and the game was abandoned with the score 17/1 off 13 overs. Its a real shame as both teams were confident of a win and it could have been a very good and close game.
