GCC 1st XI v SMRH Xl

GCC went into this game knowing a win was vital to help them achieve their end of season goals! On a very windy day and with spells of rain about Robbie won the toss and put SMRH in too bat first! They got off to a good start with the SMRH opener putting away any bad balls from Rizwan or Kenny to put SMRH on 29/0 off 6! Not the best of starts for GCC, the breakthrough came soon after though with Kenny getting the wicket! This began a huge downfall for SmRH who then lost 6 wickets for 4 runs leaving them 33/6 off 11 with rizwan having 4 and Kenny 2, beautiful bowling again and a remarkable change around! The pick of the wickets being Bens remarkable one handed catch at Gulley to remove one of the SMRH dangermen off Kennys bowling. Robbie was next on to bowl and took the wicket of Moses second ball followed by another wicket 2 balls later to leave SMRH 42/8 Kenny then picked up his third to give him figures of 10-2-30-3 the last wicket hung around for a bit so Robbie took himself off and brought on Rizwan who got the last wicket to give him his first five wicket haul for GCC 8-3-21-5! SMRH 61 all out and a fine display by GCC! Straight away the GCC boys went out to chase the total and managed to get it for the loss of no wicket in 16 overs, Greaves 34* Culley 21*. A good win for GCC in the race for promotion.
