On a bright but cold day at Gilvenbank Park skipper Kenny Crichton lost the toss and GCC were asked to field first by Falkland captain Brock Ditchmen.
Kenny Crichton and Rizwan Akbar opened the bowling with Rizwan taking the first wicket without a run on the board, At the other end Kenny stuck to his tight lines with getting plenty of swing, bowling his 10 overs straight through picking up the scalp of opener Matt Surry and finishing with figures of 1-14. This brought Robbie Wright and Guy Hudson in to the attack with Robbie picking up the wicket of their amateur and Guy picking up 2 key wickets in his 5 over spell. The big wicket of Scotland International Safyaan Sharif was had by Vasu Reddy with a well taken catch by Gowtham Rai 2 balls after drinks. Falkland frustrated Glenrothes for a bit with Brock Ditchmen top scoring with 23 not out but GCC fielded well with 3 run outs leaving Falkland all out for 96.
In reply GCC openers Chris Greaves and Gawtham Rai got off to a great start with 23 of the first 4 overs before Gowtham was bowled for 11. Unfortunately none of the other GCC's batsmen were able to get in to double figures other than Chris Greaves finishing on 23. Overall a poor performance with the bat finishing on 63 all out.
