Skipper Greig Hopcroft lost the toss and Dundee elected to have a bat first.
The innings never really got going with some very tight bowling and some excellent fielding from the Glens.
Top scorer R Hopkins played a patient innings for his 29 not out. The wickets were shared around nicely with Nathan Salt (3-20), Kenny Crichton (2-1), Muhammad Assad Dastgir Rafique (2-19) and Ian Dale (1-23). Special mention to 14 year old Ben Morris who was making his 1st XI Debut and bowled 9 overs, taking 2 wickets for only 25 runs - well done to him.
Dundee were 90 all out in 40.1 overs.
In reply Hopcroft was out early and this left Harry Fry and Chippy Dale to steady the innings - they took the score to 37 before Harry was out bowled. 2 more quick wickets fell leaving Glens 43 for 4 when Edward Gibbs came to join Chippy Dale. Some good batting, excellent running and communication saw them put on a 50 partnership to get Glens over the line for their first victory with Chippy Dale finishing with a fantastic 59 not out and Eddie 5 not out.
A good win to start the new campaign in a new league, lots of positives but also lots to work on as the season progresses.
