1st XI Tighten Grip on Second Place

Glenrothes visited Broomhall Cricket Club in the West of Fife on Saturday 19 August in the penultimate round of fixtures in the Breedon SPCU Division 2.

With only 0.22% separating both teams in second and third in the league before the game, it was always going to be close between two evenly matched teams.

And so it was to be as the game swung both ways through the day, before Glenrothes eventually held strong to secure the win - winning by 4 wickets in the 34th over.

A fantastic all-round display from Sufyan Ahmad was the highlight - starts with the wicket-keeping gloves, then shifts in to bowler mode to take 5 for 22 before batting with great restraint (and some brutal hitting) scoring 86.

Great to see four players from our Glenrothes Gladiators Under 16s team holding their own in the team, and three from the softball team giving their support also!
