No report provided, though what is clear is that Glenrothes 1st XI fell to their first defeat in the SPCU Division 1 this year as visitors Crescent took a deserved win.
A mixed-up batting lineup for Glenrothes saw them struggle throughout, though good contributions from opener Sufyan Ahmed (38), Nigam Panwar (39) in the middle order and Mayank Sautiyal (30) for some reason coming lower down the order gave a good backbone.
The crescent bowling display was excellent though the fielding display not quite of the same standard, so Glenrothes will definitely have felt their score of 177 all out was under-par.
Crescent got off to a very fast start, with all batters looking very strong. It was opener Sharma (60) to underpin their innings, and despite three wickets to Mayank Sautiyal, one wicket to young Ben Krzyzanowski getting good feedback from the opposition skipper and a run out to Adeel Ali with a direct hit from gully area it was the middle order of skipper Thangaraj (22) and Sing (22*) to see them to victory for the loss of five wickets in the 28th over.
Glenrothes will have disappointed in conceding 46 extras (including 35 wides) but this is recurring theme and definitely needs worked on!
