Glenrothes 3s travelled down to Melrose on a cold and windy day. On checking the pitch it was damp and a little soft but playable. After winning the toss, the skipper decided to have a bat, a decision he lived to regret.
The only good point was the return of form for Nathan Salt (42) but with no other player reaching double figures it was a very poor 69ao total. Giving credit to Melrose who bowled very well.
In the field with such a low total to defend we had to be sharp, unfortunately we were not sharp enough and with a few dropped catches and some big swinging hits from the batsman the total was quickly chased down.
Still 'The Barmy Army' march on and with 3 home games coming up a change of fortune will happen for the 3s, the skipper still looking at the positives and planning for the future.
