A positive vibe was within the 3s and all seemed up for the challenge against Kirk Brae 2nd XI, a cloudy day and slightly damp conditions could lead to a good game of cricket.
Paul lost the toss and the 3s were asked to bat to first, with the batting being our main downfall this season Paul asked the team to go and play there shots and enjoy there cricket as we knew Kirk Brae were a high scoring side.
Things did not start well with Robert Hutchinson facing the first ball and returning to the pavilion straight away, after that things got slightly better with guys getting starts but not pushing on, finishing with 121 on the board and something to defend.
The bowling started very well restricting Kirk Brae to 16 for 0 after the first 10 an effort by the opening bowlers Nathan Salt and Craig Muir and some great fielding by the rest of the team backing up the bowlers. However the free scoring H Rasheed then started to open his arms and although 5 wickets were taken Kirk Brae reached there target in the 33rd over.
A spirited and positive effort by all who played.
