A very different looking 3rd XI travelled to Livingston with plenty of optimism knowing that we needed a win. The wicket looked in good condition.
Paul loosing the toss and was asked to field first. A decent enough start, restricting Livingston to 73 for 2 at drinks. After drinks the batmans started to score freely with some big shots going to the boundry. Livingston finishing on 215 for 2.
Knowing that chasing a big total was going to be tough Paul asked the team to play safe but keep the score board moving. The score board did move however it was the wickets that fell frequently that moved quickly. A bad day with the bat ended the innings quickly after just 11.5 overs with the 3s being all out for 38.
A bad day at the office it certainly was and a game for all the players to forget and move forward to the final 4 games of the season, desperately needing a win, something which has alluded us all season.
