With the 1st XI match conceded by Breadalbane on Saturday, all GCC eyes were on the 2nd XI as they travelled the short distance to play Freuchie in the Strathmore and Perthshire Cricket Union (SPCU) Division 2.
Heavy rain in advance, during and forecasted for later meant the was reduced to a 30 overs per innings.
A number of Glens players made starts but couldn't push on before being bowled all out for 84 at end of the 27th over. The Tawheedi brothers showed their increasing confidence with Wahab in particular showing great guts to "dot off" the opening bowlers with little problem, Garry Tighe was disappointed to be dismissed after a promising start and debutant Ikram Ullah showed glimpses of promise also.
Freuchie were able to chase down the required runs in the 17th overs with little worry, Robbie Birrell with 38* the stand out though there was a wicket each to Ben Krzyzanowski and Rahman Tawheedi.
The difference in age and experience (Glens going in with five under 16s players) between the two sides was stark, though it was very positive to see every Glens player working hard and showing encouraging signs for the rest of the season.
