Glenrothes 2nd XI welcomed Dundee HSFP 3rd XI to Gilvenbank Park on Saturday, where visiting skipper Adrian Caddick won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Glens made a quick start through Dipu Das (13), before his dismissal in the 4th over brought Georgkutty Chacko to the crease alongside Wahab Tawheedi.
The pair batted with control and intent, moving the score past 100 in the 24th over. Tawheedi fell for a well‑made 39, but that only opened the door for Basil Varghese, who joined Chacko in a superb unbeaten partnership. Both mixed boundary hitting with sharp running, guiding Glenrothes to an impressive 213 for 2 from 40 overs, with Chacko finishing on 79* and Varghese on 65*.
Dundee HSFP’s young side showed plenty of promise with the bat but struggled to build partnerships. Early breakthroughs from Kevin Le Roux (3 for 6 from 5 overs) and young Archie Taylor (2 for 7 from 6) put the visitors under immediate pressure. With every other bowler chipping in -including a debut wicket for Saran Kumar Karavadhi - Dundee HSFP were bowled out for 73 in 31 overs.
A strong all‑round performance, and another reminder that the Glens’ blend of youth and experience continues to deliver fun, competitive cricket.
